Good afternoon,
We are in frequent contact with the ND Department of Public Instruction and the Department of Public Health trying to find out what schools will be allowed to do in August.
• At this time, we do not know if students will be allowed to return. Governor Burgum will be making an announcement today (July 14)
• If they are allowed to return, we do not know if class-size caps and social distancing guidelines will be in place. A draft with guidelines will be presented to school districts in the following days.
• If they are, will that force us to limit the number of students who can attend school each day?
• If all students can attend, what restrictions will be placed upon us for transportation, classrooms, gathering, etc.?
It is our hope that the guidelines we need to follow will be released by the state in draft form by mid-late July. Once those guidelines are released, we will gain insight from our stakeholders through a survey to do our very best to accommodate for our Bulldog family. We have formed a committee to address all safety plans, avenues, policies, and perspectives starting next week. We will then share the educational plan for this fall. We will be touching base with updates and a district-wide plan in early August.
We know how difficult this uncertainty is for many of you. Rest assured that as soon as we have guidance from the state, we will communicate our plan. If you have specific questions or concerns, please express them when our survey is sent so we can review, reflect, and decide on best practices. (Full statement on website)

Thank you to all who have returned school supplies and devices. We still need devices from some families.
We will be sending out report cards on Friday to all students' families. If you would like your students report cards to be emailed as an attachment instead of mailed, please email or contact your students homeroom teacher. We will continue with our Kindergarten and 8th grade graduation at this time rain or shine (Friday, May 22nd) with our Kindergarten @ 11:00am, and 8th grade @ 1:00pm. Parent vehicles will line the parking lot with one vehicle per family facing the bus barn. We will have the ceremony speeches carried with an FM transmitter on 98.1, as well as live streamed on our Facebook/Youtube page for loved ones who cannot make it in person. When the student is called, they will exit their vehicle and to a table that will be set up with their certificates and treats to take with them, and a moment to take pictures in front of our graduation speakers, from a distance. We will update if necessary, for any further changes. Thank you!

Correction: Emerado Public School will not be mailing out report cards. They will be EMAILED to the email we have on Powerschool. If you wish to have your child's report card mailed, please contact your students homeroom teacher.

Reminder that there are still a few homework packets/bags available for pickup in the entryway of door #2 at the school. Bags will have names of students on them. Continue to urge your students to participate with their online/distance learning and to communicate with staff. If there is anything the school can help with to fight through barriers, let us know! We are in this together!

Today @ 1:30pm is our Emerado Parade. We do not have a set route we will be taking, however the plan will be to go through where students are picked up and dropped off daily throughout the year. We will go through as many streets as possible from there. Hope to see all your smiling faces in town! Dress warm!

Tomorrow Thursday, April 9th @ 1:30 pm will be an Emerado Parade! Please meet us outside to wave and say hello! We look forward to seeing you all!

Homework and food bags are available for pick-up in the entryway of door #2 at the school. These doors will remain open after hours to accomodate for work schedules.
